Property Advertised by: Mediator / Translator (on behalf of owner)

Property Description

A beautifully located, south facing, 3 hectare smallholding with a 30m2 ruin with habitation licence.

The ruin has solid stone walls and is on two levels with stunning views and will make a great renovation project.

The land is sloped and partially cleared revealing old terraces previously used for growing grain and grazing sheep, which is one of the main industries in the area. The sheep’s cheese is a must try!

There are lots of mature oaks and pines on the land and plenty of space to plant a diversity of new trees or indeed start a reforestation project.

The land is watered by two water mines which will provide year round water but there is also potential for rainwater catchment using permaculture principles.

The location of this property is stunning. Sitting on the edge of the small village of Quintas and a stone’s throw from the medieval village of Linhares da Beira, of which the castle is a main feature of the view.

There is easy access to the property via a short dirt track which joins a tarmac rd leading to Quintas or the N17. Proximity to the N17 means only 15 minutes drive to the town of Celorico da Beira and only 40 minutes to the city of Guarda. A further 30 minutes drive will see you to the Spanish border.
