Land with 1.19ha. The extensive grounds are flat in nature (no terraces!) and an abundance of water. While we have grid water, from the Camera, there is a pumped Bore Hole with irrigation to most areas of the land – a further Well; that we use to fill the pool and irrigate the veg patch. The well has never dropped below 5 meters – and we have recorded more than 10 meters.

The lands are a delight – being flat, easy to take care of with our tractor, or ideally if you have horses? There are numerous (60+) Olive trees – we harvested over 500 kilos in 2019. Other fruit trees: Apple, Pear, Quince, Plum, Peach, Chestnut, Pomegranate, Lemon, Orange, Tangerine… of course I always forget them all ! We have vines too.

I have created a separate veg garden that comes complete with Polytunnel and raised beds – so if you are looking for the the ‘Good Life’ you will find it all here.

We have Chickens and Geese on the land – with 2 chicken Co-ops and 1 goose house. There is also a log cabin, 5 meters X 3 meters. A solid construction that could be put to good use – currently it houses my cats and animal feed.

We dug out a goose pond – but the geese really are only interested in this in the spring – but it does create a haven for wildlife – one of my ongoing projects is to plant the pond further – it’s on the list of ‘todo’ jobs.

What we love about our home is the entertainment area we have created. A large BBQ and Kitchen area, with decking, and a small pool 7 meters X 3 Meters. The area is decked with chips and a further seating area with fire pit. We even have a Petanque Court! which provided friends and family huge fun (played with a glass in the hand at all times)

We have a decked terrace that leads from the kitchen diner of the main accommodation – this is roofed to provide use all year round – and to be honest is where we spend most of our time.

The house and grounds are completely fenced and we have two separate gated driveways.

We have renovated every inch of this property – from new roof – to new floors (in kitchen dining) New electrics and plumbing, new woodburner and new water heater. The new double glazing is the latest thermal technology (reflects heat and sound) we find it super.

There are still some projects left – the stables ‘could’ be converted into living accommodation – but this would be subject to local permissions. The front garden is sitting waiting on its makeover – again on my ‘to-do’ list; however, the house and guest annex are completely finished.

The Hamlet of ‘Quinta’ is a beautiful spot walking distance from the village of Cernache do Bonjardim, where you will find a thriving community – supermarkets, pharmacy, shops, the best electrical outlet, and the Bombarios, loads of cafes and at least 2 good restaurants. Further afield (9km) is the main town of Serta.

Coimbra is 50 minutes away, Both Lisbon and Porto are equally 1 hour 50mins away. The fabulous Trizio River beach is only 7km away. The IC8 and famous N2 are 6km.
