Separate owner’s accommodation with:

– 2 double bedrooms, bathroom, fully fitted kitchen and living/dining room with woodburning fire and patio doors.

– The living/dining room, kitchen and bathroom have stunning brick, vaulted ceilings while all rooms have exposed brick arches over the windows or doors.


The main house’s unique majestic style and grand architecture dates back to the early 1900s. It was fully renovated between 2010 and 2012.


2.9 hectares/7.2 acres of gently sloping, fertile land, which comprises of:

– 1.36 ha of old, traditional vineyard, currently managed organically, interspersed with olive, cork and fruit trees which is typical of the unique bioculture found in the old vineyards of this region. Many of the vines are around 100 years old and are the increasingly rare Alentejo grape varieties.

– 1.55 ha of pasture which is suitable for keeping livestock.

– 158 olive trees and many cork trees, one of the olive trees being over 1000 years old. There are also numerous fruit trees, including established apples, pears, plums, figs, walnuts, oranges and clementines, whilst lemon, lime, grapefruit, plum and cherry trees have been recently planted, with room for more to be added.

– A large water fonte which is fed by spring water. The fonte is currently used as an ornamental pond and gravity feeds the irrigation system for many of the fruit trees. It is home to water lilies, newts and many frogs but could be converted into a plunge pool.

– A covered well and pump house, which could be used for irrigation of the land.

– The grapevines and the olive trees are registered with the Portuguese Ministry of Agriculture enabling appropriate agriculture subsidies to be claimed.


In addition to the main house there is:

– A separate two-storey old house in need of complete renovation. It has four rooms upstairs, five rooms downstairs, a bread oven and a terrace.

– Two large barns and a small store room. One of the barns is in good condition but the second barn needs a new roof.

– The barns and store room contain numerous antique wine making and agricultural related equipment. This includes a large wine press, destalking machine, many old wine barrels, numerous wine bottles and an old cart.

– Excellent access from a quiet tarmac road and a second gateway accessed from a small side road. There is plenty of off-road parking.

– The main house has mains electricity, mains water, septic tank, telephone line, ADSL Internet connection and a large satellite TV dish.


The property is located on the edge of the quiet village of Reguengo, only 10 minute’s drive from Portalegre with all its amenities such as restaurants, supermarkets, shops, theatre, banks, utility providers, health centre and hospital.
