Property Description

Casa da Câmara (Town Hall House) was built in the XVII century, it was the Town Council (town hall), Tribunal and other public services, when the village of Mouraz was the head of the county.

Fully rebuilt in 2006 and used since that year as a guest house. The house has four bedrooms in the first floor and two more in the ground floor, where one is fully equipped to receive guests with lower mobility capabilities (guests in wheel chairs, for example) and the other one is used as bedroom for the house owners.

All bedrooms are equipped with a fully functional and modern bathroom and all have a large wardrobe. In the first floor, Casa da Câmara also has a large living room with fireplace (approx. 50m2) and another small room used as a reception area (approx. 12m2). The rooms are between 20m2 and 25m2. There are several doors that give access to a outside balcony, with an excellent view over the garden, the swimming pool and on the horizon you can see the tallest mountain in Continental Portugal, called Serra da Estrela.

On the ground floor, there’s a dining room with a fireplace, bar, storage room and a modern bathroom. It also has a fireplace and several glass doors that give access to the garden and swimming pool. There is also a large and fully equipped kitchen with a storeroom (30m2), a fully equipped laundry (30m2) and an extra storeroom (3m2).

Outside, the garden is well maintained and the swimming pool is excellent. There is also a large closed garage (suitable for 3 or 4 cars) and another covered area (but not fully closed) suitable to park an extra car.

Casa da Câmara is located in the northern part of Portugal, in a ancient and small village called Carvalhal de Mouraz, between the major cities of Coimbra (50 Km) and Viseu (20 Km).
