There is a large, flat field at the bottom of the land with a stream. This area has been used as a large vegetable garden, for camping, grazing for horses and there are lots of 3-year-old asparagus plants and fruit trees planted. There is another hidden valley with some beautiful farming terraces with ancient stone walls. This has been used for more vegetable gardens as well as fruit trees and has a great natural spring above the terraces providing fresh water all year.

The rest of the land has been made into pastures for horses with medronho bushes and cork trees. There are also areas of steeper land filled with native fauna and flora. Every year the medronho bushes make a great harvest of berries which can be sold to make the liquor medronho. Last year the medronho harvest made about 1 tonne of berries, worth around 2000 euros.

There are 3 watering points spread across the land so the animals can drink. In the centre of the land is a lake which provides the whole land with water for irrigation. Above the lake there are 2 more springs, and a 30,000l water tank. The land also includes 2 excellent downhill mountain bike tracks which go from the very top to the very bottom. These also make for lovely walking and access trails. The land is very well cleared making it very safe from forest fires.

As well as the cork trees and medronho there are many fruit trees, mostly still young but some providing fruit already, including – bananas, avocado, passion fruit, olives, carob, oranges, figs, grapes, mulberry, quince, khaki, lemons, peach, pear, apple, almond, loquat, pomegranate, plum etc.

This land has abundant water. It has a lake full of black bass, 3 springs and a stream. . A solar pump which pumps water up from the spring for the house and another solar pump which pumps water up from the lake for irrigation. The agricultural zone at the bottom of the land is irrigated by gravity from the lake.

Above the lake is a beautiful platform with a caravan/open wooden house with it’s own solar system. There are great views from here as well as a beautiful little garden.
