Property Advertised by: Mediator / Translator (on behalf of owner)

Property Description

As a sign of a previous settlement there are two houses in ruins and also a water mill ruin.

To feed the water mill there is a still working water tank with 50cm wide stone walls that can hold a huge amount of water.

The property has about 10 hectares of land with many trees, mainly sweet chestnut (Castanea sativa) and oak (Quercus robur) and a valley where a water stream runs.

It has some agricultural terraces along the valley, where the soil seems to be of very good quality.

Motorized access must be through steep unpaved roads, so a 4-wheel drive vehicle is probably required.

At the top, the property borders with a huge area of woodland that belongs to the Portuguese state (Mata Nacional, equivalent to the UK’s National Trust woodland).

It is a secluded property but is just about 1km from a small village called Aveleira in Arganil council. Arganil is the nearest town, just 6.6km away.
