Quinta do Dao is situated in the Dao valley 15km south of Viseu.

Main building for renovation, with architect plans (on request) and planning permission (as of March 2018) from the local camara to renovate the existing main building as well as extend by double the footprint for a modern build making it a 3 bed house. This plan comes with a habitation licence.

There are further buildings notably a bread house and a number of traditional river mills below the main building. These buildings all require renovation.

Set in just under 2ha of land, split between areas of mixed woodland, terracing and River Dao frontage, this property is a truly beautiful and calm space. It is very private with no other houses overlooking the property.

There are extensive terraces across the property as the land descends down towards the extensive river frontage. There are a large number of vines on the terracing, olive trees, some large sweet chestnuts and a few fruit trees. We harvested 80L of olive oil last year.

The possibilities for use on the property are multiple, whether as a home or a place with potential for retreats and small events.

This river area was extensively cleared of 100 years of woodland and debris 18 months ago. The farm as a whole has been regularly cleaned and cleared over the past three years. Consequently whilst there was fire damage in the area from the 2018 fires there is only minimal scorching to some trees in the top area of the farm.

The farm is totally off-grid at present. There is a lot of room for solar panels, but electricity is approximately 50m from property edge should you wish to be connected to the grid. No telephone line is installed as there is good mobile 4G access.

Water supply comes via a 8m well onto a spring, which was dug 12 months ago. There is also a small water mine on the south side of the property.

A newly-built 200 meter long 3.5m wide track connects the property to the main road.

This is a property that has to be seen to be truly appreciated.

The farm is approximately 15km south of Viseu and within short distances of a number of villages offering shops, doctors, hotels, schools, banks/cash machines and river beaches.

The farm is approximately 1.5 hours drive to Porto airport and 2 hours from Lisbon.
