Acupuncture In Lisbon

Get back to feeling good. Acupuncture is complete system of health care that’s been practiced continuously for several thousand years. As Dr. Andrew Weil says, “acupuncture is a complete medical protocol focused on correcting imbalances of energy in the body. From its inception in China more than 2,500 years ago, acupuncture has been used traditionally to prevent, diagnose and treat disease, as well as to improve general health

A modern analogy is if the body is like a computer that has many sub-programs running at once, then acupuncture is like an operating system that helps organize them. Once these programs communicate better and run more efficiently, the whole body functions more smoothly.

Each treatment is designed to optimize the body’s innate intelligence to reduce pain, heal faster, clear the mind, and restore overall balance.

What happens in a treatment
Each session begins with a consultation about your health history and what you want to address. What do you need to take care of? Does your back hurt? Are you having stress or digestive issues? Then Hayley will take your pulse and look at your tongue (identifiers of symptomology in Chinese medicine) and you’ll get comfortable on the massage table. Hayley will direct the treatment according to your needs. It might include auriculotherapy, gua sha, electroacupuncture, cupping, or essential oils. Then you relax with needles in while the body does its work. Common side effects include falling asleep during treatment and feeling relaxed and refreshed afterwards!

Testimonials
“My weekly sessions with Hayley are relaxing and something I really look forward to as a moment where I know I am doing something quiet for myself. While I go for overall well-being, I did have horrible hip pain that then went away a few hours after the session where it was treated! Hayley is very experienced and knows so much about the body and Chinese medicine. You are in good hands with her!” – K

“My back and legs are way better! Was just thinking going to bed last night that the nerve pains in my legs are completely gone, and I’m not woken up by the pain at all. Thank you again for the work you did.” – R

“Hayley is an excellent acupuncturist. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate and professional acupuncturist. I went to her with a very bad flu, and within 24 hours of her treatment, I was 70% better, and after the second treatment I was 95% better. She has a very light touch, yet is extremely effective. I have used acupuncture for all my health concerns for over 15 years, and have tried many styles and practitioners, and I can say with confidence that Hayley is very, very good.” – C
