The Pure Portugal Festivals Guide – 2020

Portugal knows how to party, this we already know! But if the year-round festas are not enough for you, fear not! Festivals are making more and more of an appearance in Portugal each year and 2020 is set to be one of the biggest and best yet! 

To help you decide which festivals are a total must we have compiled a month by month list so you can enjoy Portugal and the festival season to the max…From small one day festivals – to ones that last all summer – Portugal has it all from jazz, reggae, folk, dance, trance and family friendly to raving your socks off, there’s sure to be something here for everyone!

NOS Primavera Sound Porto – Taking place in the Parque da Cidade with top musicians from the alternative music scene.


NOS ALIVE – A 3 day art and music extravaganza.

SUPER BOCK SUPER ROCK – One of the biggest festivals in Portugal, luring in Rock and Metal fans from across the globe.

BOOM – Travel to another world with music performances and an astounding array of visual exhibits.

SUMOL SUMMER FEST – Music, skate park, a famous surf spot and gorgeous golden sands.

SANTA MARIA BLUES – Listen to some Blues outdoors and enjoy Azorean cuisine.

FMM SINES – Thought to be the biggest world festival in Portugal. Great music from all over the world on a spectacular coastline.

MEO MARES VIVAS – The largest music festival in the north, 3 stages dedicated to top artists.

ANANDA FESTIVAL OF BLISS – A revolutionary festival, co-creating a thriving community.

ZIMP FESTIVAL – Offering moments of self-knowledge, well-being and contact with nature.

VODAFONE PAREDES DE COURA – Beachside, charming and now 25 years old and considered one of the best by Rolling Stone Magazine.

FATT FESTIVAL – Promoting the didgeridoo and the Australian Aboriginal culture in Portugal.

EDP VILAR DE MOUROS – The oldest rock festival in Portugal, with Iggy Pop as one of the headliners for 2020!

SONIC BLAST – Good vibes and sonic jams! This year taking place in a new location due to be announced soon.
