Plots of fertile land with ruins of old mills

Property Advertised by: Licensed Estate Agent

Property Description

Ensemble of various plots of fertile land for agricultural purpose. Total of 3.59ha. Easy access for agricultural vehicles. Good sun exposure. Tomar area. Ruins of old mills for renovation purpose.

Plot suitable for dry land farming, in the parish of Madalena and close to the historical and medieval city of Tomar.

The property has 10 rustic titles which are all joined together in one single plot of fertile land, with excellent sun exposure, and accessed by two roads on the edge of the property.

The land has laid fallow for almost 30 years, so it would be most suitable for organic farming. It was once the largest vineyard in the region, producing top quality grapes for wine making, but could also be used for other arable crops or even commercial forest plantations.

There are also fig and olive trees on this plot, but no borehole or wells for irrigation since the land has only been used for dry land farming. However, a borehole could be easily drilled on the property.

There is a stream running behind the property which may, or may not, run dry in the summer.

There is an adjacent plot of land with the ruin of a mill, with stone walls still standing, which isn’t included in this listing but whose sale may be possible to negotiate in order to increase the area of the land and even obtain planning permission for building.
