Quinta Vale Cabeiro is a vast 40 hectare (100 acres) quinta situated 1 km from the village of Póvoa Palhaça, 1 km from the village of Quintas de Torre, and a 20 minute drive from the town of Fundão. Fundão has a weekly farmers market, schools, hotels, a campsite, swimming facilities, a sports centre, an archaeological museum, shops and supermarkets of all kinds, it’s a very beautiful area with easy access, famous for its micro climate, cherry growing, clean air, friendly people, natural beauty, archaeological interest, and the Gardunha Mountains.

The access to the quinta is very good. There are 3 gated entrances from the road.  The place is completely quiet, private and peaceful. The whole property is fenced making it an excellent place for keeping goats, sheep, horses, donkeys. There is plenty of pasture for some horses but because of the huge area of scrub land goats would thrive here too. Previously there had been a herd of 90 sheep on the quinta. To the far right of the house there’s a huge fenced animal pen with a natural water pool within it.

There is lots of water coming from 6 spring water pools. It would be possible to keep the arable areas green throughout the summer by using the spring water and there is more than enough water for growing food etc. There aren’t a lot of fruit trees but there are 2 orange trees, a good chestnut tree and a pear tree, obviously many more could be planted.

For one family or for lots of people, the quinta has loads of potential for anything you want it to be, the feel of the place is great and the mega far reaching views are absolutely fabulous.

The house and outbuilding are good solid granite stone buildings. Both buildings are registered as habitation so the outbuilding can also be renovated to live in. Further construction is also possible. They both need new roofs and the house will need complete interior renovation. The house has a 60m2 footprint and two floors. The top floor was once lived in and the bottom floor was used as a store/barn. Above the house on the hillside is an old stone baking oven still intact, and to the side of the house are 3 stone chicken/pig enclosures.

Electricity is right on the border of the property with the connection box already built. The connection fee will be minimal. Mains water, if wanted, also passes in the road.
