A two bedroom detached cottage which has been tastefully restored retaining many traditional style features, including an exposed wooden beamed roof, exposed stone walls and a large fireplace to the living room.
Set over one floor it is now in the final stages of renovation and will have wooden framed windows with external shutters. The cottage's exterior walls are stone and mainly exposed, with the window and door surrounds in a contrasting carved stone.
The main entrance to the cottage leads into a large open-plan living room and kitchen, which will have a terracotta tiled floor. This kitchen living room is double aspect and has a large traditional fireplace to one corner. The kitchen will have a selection of built-in base and eye level wooden units. There is a laundry room off the kitchen, which will be plumbed ready for a washing machine and utility sink.
Off the living room there is a good sized bedroom, with a second bedroom accessed off a small hallway. Both bedrooms will also have terracotta tiled floors. The bathroom will be partially tiled and have a toilet, bidet, pedestal sink and a shower.
There is a second exterior door off the hallway, which leads out to a stone paved dining area with a built-in barbecue. This dining area looks out over the property's garden.
The cottage is connected to mains water and electricity.
The garden is walled and there will be private vehicle entrance gates. The garden has several olive trees, is relatively flat, and large enough to incorporate a swimming pool if required.
Situated in a peaceful location, set back from a quiet road in the small village of Pera Calvo, near Tomar in Central Portugal.
The popular and bustling town of Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo, is 10 minutes drive from the cottage. Tomar has a range of supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, bus and train station, cinema, bowling alley and library as well as pharmacies, banks, schools, hospital and weekly market.
The closest airport is at Lisbon, which is one and a quarter hours by car.
The property is in the final stages of renovation and at present the buyers will have a choice of the finishings.
