Attached to the cottage is a large stone barn which is set over one floor. This barn also has 50cm thick walls and although used for storage at present, could be converted into part of the living space. The barn has a dirt floor and a wooden beamed roof.
There is a gated driveway to the side of the cottage with ample parking space for three or four vehicles.
The property is set on a flat plot of land measuring 1,340m2 (over 0.25 acre).The land is very fertile and there is a good variety of mature fruit trees including olive, orange, lemon and Nespera trees.
The property is situated in a small hamlet near Ferreira do Zêzere in Central Portugal. There are neighbouring properties around, though none overlook the garden. The property is set on a quiet country road, is in a peaceful position, and is close to all amenities.
The historic town of Tomar is around a 15 minutes drive. Tomar is home to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo and has a variety of supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, sports centres, cinema, bowling alley and hospital. The river beach of Agroal is around 10 minutes drive from the property, which is popular during the summer months for swimming and socialising.
The closest airport to the property is situated at Lisbon, which is around one and a half hours' by car. Lisbon airport is serviced by a variety of low cost airlines which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries.
