This fabulous quinta is situated in rolling hills and valleys 8km from the small town of Oleiros and 24km from Pedrógão Grande.
The nearest village with bars, cafés, mini supermarket, doctors and restaurant, plus access to the Cabril lake for swimming etc is the historic cobbled village of Álvaro, 4km away.
The property is fairly isolated but as mentioned above, amenities are not far away. This is a property for people who want absolute undisturbed privacy.
The main house is made of stone and has a 200m2 footprint. The roof is in reasonably good condition, it's water tight and the timbers are good. Some of the windows need changing and some interior renovation and modernisation needs doing. With the old homemade rustic wooden cupboards and furniture and stone kitchen sink etc, walking into the house is like stepping back in time. The house is divided into 7 cellar rooms, 5 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 2 lounges, and a kitchen/diner with an open fireplace.
There are a further 7 stone buildings, some of which used to be lived in, others were storage, barn, bakehouse, etc. and most need new roofs. All together the property is like a little village.
The land is a vast 16 hectares (40 acres), approx. 2 hectares are terraced for agriculture, with around 200 olive trees, some fruit trees, plenty of space for veg growing, 2 water mines, one of which is plumbed to the house, and a well. The rest of the land is eucalyptus/pine woodland and scrub.
There are fabulous views, incredible stone walls, and for most of the year a stream and a waterfall.
