Condeixa-a-Nova also known as Condeixa, is a town and a municipality in the district of Coimbra, Portugal.
Condeixa - The new or the old ? Located only 15 minutes drive from the city of Coimbra it has in recent years grown and grown so that the very old part Condexia-a-Velha is now the smaller relation. Steeped in history, much of which is just now being unearthed. The town’s original site was a thriving roman town. In fact the nearby roman ruins of Conímbriga which has a museum and the well-preserved ruins are a great day out.
The local area is mainly rural and is only 44Km or 40 minutes drive from the nearest beaches and the famous resort of Figueira da Foz.
