A 2 bedroom detached stone cottage situated close to Ferreira do Zêzere, central Portugal. The property measures 115m2 of construction and has stone window and door surrounds.
The main entrance to the cottage leads directly into the living room, which has a wooden floor and ceiling. There is a traditional built in wooden storage cupboard to one corner of the living room. Off the living room there are 2 traditional sized bedrooms, again with wooden floors and ceilings.
The kitchen is located at the rear of the cottage and has a large, traditional fireplace. There is a storage room off the kitchen which gives access to the cottage's attic.
At present the attic, which has a gable end window, is only used for storage purposes but could be converted, quite easily, into additional living space.
At the rear of the cottage there is a large, covered terrace which looks out over the land. The covered terrace has a dirt floor and a wooden beamed roof.
There is also a basement area to the cottage, which is accessed from the exterior via a set of double opening metal doors, and has a concrete floor to one part. The basement is divided into three large rooms, all interconnecting. Two of these rooms have dirt floors.
The property is connected to both mains water and electricity.
The cottage has an attached stone barn, which could be converted into additional living space quiet easily. The barn is currently one open space and has stone walls, approximately 50cm thick. The roof is wooden beamed and is fairly good condition.
The property is set on a plot of land measuring 1,323m2, which is all relatively flat. The land is fertile and there are some mature fruit trees in situ. There is a neighbouring property opposite and some other houses nearby but none overlook the cottage.
It is set on a quiet road and has good views from the rear. Situated in a slightly elevated position and there are neighbouring properties around, though not too close.
The cottage is within walking distance of a cafe, and the nearest mini-market is around 2 minutes drive. The closest town to the property is situated at Tomar, which is around 10 minutes by car. Tomar is a popular and bustling town with a variety of supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, schools, pharmacies, builders' merchants, wood yards, sports centres, cinema, bowling alley and bus and train station.
The closest airport to the property is situated at Lisbon, which is around one and a half hours' by car. Lisbon airport is serviced by a variety of low cost airlines, which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries.
