The project permission has now lapsed and will need to be reapplied for, or you could submit plans to your own design.

The area of the site footprint is 67.28m2 and the house footprint is 50.35m2 - leaving a small inner garden with a large fruit tree. The total area of construction is 122.35m2.

The project for all the infrastructures including electricity, water and gas was also approved.

Main floor: entrance hall, living room of 27.87m2, small bathroom, kitchen of 10.10m2, pantry, and garden patio with large fruit tree
Middle floor: large mezzanine area, bathroom, and bedroom of 10.5m2
Top floor: 2 bedrooms of 7m2 and bathroom.

From the top floors there is a fabulous view across rooftops of the village and out to the plains of Spain.

As a fortified town along the frontier between Spain and Portugal, Castelo de Vide has maintained, within its walls, traces of its history from Roman and Moorish times to the present. There is the dominant Castle São Roque built in 1327, the Jewish quarter, churches, fountains, mansions and Gothic doorways.

Located 20km from Portalegre, Castelo de Vide (referred to as the Sintra of the Alentejo) is located in the Nature Park of São Mamede which is one of the most beautiful areas of Portugal. An area of dolmens, antas, menirs, and Roman sites.

The property is a good prospect for holiday rentals since Castelo de Vide is popular with visitors either on the wine and gastronomic routes, or just on sightseeing holidays.
