Casa Zé Luis is a stunningly beautiful farmhouse of stone construction located just outside the village of Rabaçal in the heart of Portugal.
The property is currently being used as a cheese factory but could easily be converted back to a dwelling. The farmhouse has had its internal wooden floor removed in order to accommodate the cheese making equipment. UPDATE! The current owner of the property has been accepted in a national competition for a solar energy project. A photo-voltaic installation will be constructed by the side of the property which will generate electricity for the national grid. This project is supported by Energias de Portugal and will be executed by Sinergiae (www.sinergiae.pt) It is anticipated that the revenue from the sales to the national grid will more than cover the electricity costs of the property. In addition to the photo-voltaic installation, there will be panels on the roof which will supply the property with hot water.
