Aldeia do Rouquenho is a nearby small village with an authentic way of living in the Alentejo. You can be surprised by accordion music, or be invited for a meal of little snails. The village is situated a 10 minute walk from the property and a 10km distance from Ferreira do Alentejo.
Ferreira do Alentejo is a historic town with shady gardens, a large outdoor swimming pool, historic chapels and churches. You can dine in one of the many local restaurants, or enjoy a drink at a cafe terrace. At nighttime you can go out to one of the nightclubs, or play a game of billiards. Ferreira do Alentejo is situated a 15 minute drive away
Barragem de Odivelas is a 20 minute drive from 'Monte dos Tamacos'. Here at the lake you can can swim, canoe or enjoy other water sports. At the lakeside there are bbq grills, showers, toilets, and a bar with a terrace. This lake is also suitable for sport fishing.
The historic town Beja has various possibilities for recreation. If you like ancient culture there is a castle and other medieval buildings. Besides you can see the Moorish and Roman influence. Beja has a friendly town centre with charming shops and restaurants. Situated 30 minutes away.
