Located in the valley of the river Lima, in the heart of the Alto Minho, Quinta de Navais is an historical estate dating from the 16th century.

Casa Senhorial / Manor House
Inside the 18th century granite entrance to the estate*, the land goes up in terraces to the Manor. The construction of the house dates back to the late 16th / early 17th century. The main facade has stone stairs finishing in a veranda and the south-west facade has a balcony with two arches. The house has an area of about 500m2 over two floors. The first floor has 10 rooms - 5 of the rooms have 17th century wooden ceilings and there are 2 granite fireplaces. The ground floor has a more rustic finishing and has 8 rooms. The Manor House would benefit from some renewal but is in good habitable condition.
Adega / Winery
Built in granite with about 120m2 of covered area, the adega is situated near the manor house and the roof has been renewed recently.
Casa Caseiros 1
300m2 house built totally in granite, this building has a new insulated roof.
Casa dos Caseiros 2
190m2 house built totally in granite.
Lagar de Azeite
Former olive oil press / factory. Built totally in granite with 400m2 covered area.
11,000m2 (11 hectares) Land

The quinta has two water springs, 3 wells and 3 water reservoirs to irrigate the land, and is crossed by a creek.
The quinta is situated in countryside yet with easy access to the A2 highway (6km) and the cities of Braga (20 mins), Oporto (40 mins) and Vigo-Spain (35 mins).
* A little bit of history: in the centre of a large expanse of stone wall topped by buttresses and granite pinnacles, is the entrance gate over which can be seen the family's coat of arms consisting of the Sousa's family crest (1st and 4th sections) and the Cardosos family crest (2nd and 3rd), the seal is furthermore overlaid by that of the Meneses.
