The village has all amenities, i.e. restaurants, banks, and supermarkets, etc. A meal for two in the Restaurant Iris will cost around €12 for 3 courses. The medieval town of Penela with its 11th century castle is a 5 minute drive by car. Coimbra, which was once the capital city of Portugal, is 25km north. This beautiful University City overlooks the river Mondego that flows west to the coastal resort of Figueira do Foz.
