The medieval town of Penela with its 11th century castle is a 5 minute drive by car. Coimbra, which was once the capital city of Portugal, is 25km north. This beautiful University City overlooks the river Mondego that flows west to the coastal resort of Figueira do Foz.

'Casa Sylvia' is positioned in the heart of the country making it an ideal spot from where to explore this unspoilt part of Portugal.
