This is the perfect hideaway. Casa Sara is a stone built house in a tiny peaceful village, with immediate access into pine forest walks from the garden and far reaching views over the lovely river valley. Swimming at the nearby river beach in a stunning gorge.

The house has been carefully restored to retain the original rustic village character. The spacious rooms are arranged on two levels.

On the upper level, off the terracotta tiled hall, the 26’ x 15’ living/dining room has a vaulted ceiling, wood burning stove, and french doors opening onto a sunny patio. Wonderful views over the valley. An archway and two stone steps lead to the kitchen with french doors to the garden. The master bedroom is across the hall.

The Hallway and stairs to the lower level show off the beautiful original stonework and lead to two more double bedrooms and the bathroom.

The garden is simply laid out with stone walls, lavender, cacti, olive and lemon trees and leads directly into national forest, with a mixture of pines, chestnuts and mimosa trees, wild rock roses and heather. There is about 1/4 acre with the house and a further 1/3 acre stone-walled field within a hundred yards or so.

The area is renowned for its natural beauty, with the rivers and pine covered hills of the Serra de Lousã. The house is in the tiny village of Cha, 5 minutes from Serpins with local shops and cafés. The market town of Lousã is 10 minutes away, and has all facilities. Both towns have train stations with connections to the university city of Coimbra (the original capital of Portugal) which can be reached in 30 minutes by car.

The coast at Figueira da Foz is 90 mins away.
