Casa Covão is a small detached house in need of renovation. Only a few minutes drive to a train station and in walking distance of a bar and restaurant. The cottage is over 100 years old, west-facing, and has two floors overlooking a quiet valley.

The garden is small but still very usable, it is flat and grassed, with more than enough room for a picnic bench, barbecue and flowerbeds etc, it catches the sun right through the day and has a plum tree and two peach trees. There is also a small part above the house which could be used for lying out in the sun, or just enjoying the view across the valley.

The house stands above a quiet road to Serpins on a wooded hillside in an area called Pisão do Covão. The town of Serpins with a bank machine, Post Office, school, mini-market, and train station, are less than 5 minutes drive (or taxi ride) making the place an ideal holiday home. From Serpins, trains to Coimbra (one hour) run every hour, and from there trains can be taken to the nearest airport at Porto (two hours) Lisbon (three hours) and the Algarve. Coimbra is half an hour by car and has a number of new shopping centres, a large hospital, a university, a football stadium, and many bars and restaurants.

Renovation work can be carried out by the owners of the property who have already completed some fantastic restoration projects. The finished property could have three bedrooms, a large lounge, stairs between floors, new bathroom, fitted kitchen, balcony and small garden. Work could also include a brand-new internally boarded roof, plaster and paint throughout, wood or tile floors, double glazed windows and doors, bread oven in the kitchen restored, and wood burner fitted in the lounge.

The owners have planned to do this work in three phases, details of which are available on request.
