The main living area is open plan with a large kitchen/diner (26m2 approx) opening out through an archway, into a large living area (32m2 approx) with a large stone fireplace and open stairway to the upstairs bedrooms. The property has a good reliable supply of water which is clean and suitable for drinking. This supply is pumped from a water mine which is 24 meters long. There is also another mine which goes about 100 meters underground with a cave pool about 24 meters in. There is mains electricity and telephone connected.

8,000m2 land (2 acres) is terraced; with one field of olive trees (24) the other fields are mainly flat and versatile for planting vines, trees, for growing vegetable or grazing. There are already some trees around the borders and newly planted nut and fig trees.

There is a large flat area next to the house which allows for many cars and potential for a swimming pool.

The property has two means of access. One track leads up hill to a tarmac made up road the other goes downhill to another track through other parts of the property which are not for sale, as they belong to other family members. (But access is allowed.) Both go to the village of Ferro, which is 1km-1 ½ km away.

The house has expansive views across to the Serra da Estrela Mountains.

The village of Ferro is of historical and architectural interest, being one of the oldest villages in the area, dating from 1233. There are many water fonts and fountains and historical church and chapels. There are various bars, a bakery, supermarket, pharmacy, post office and swimming pool, also a nursery and junior schools.

The nearest large town is Covilha 14 km away, which has all facilities including hospital, sports centre and shops. Ferro has three buses a day to Covilha. It is also a main gateway to the Serra Da Estrella where there is skiing in the winter and many summer activities. Covilha is on the main train line to Lisbon and the motorway to Spain/North Portugal and Lisbon.
